DECIDUOUS TEETH PERSISTENCE IN DOG (Canis familiares): case report
Abstract
The aim of this study was to report a case of persistence of deciduous teeth in a dog, Jack Russell breed, two years old, observed at School Veterinary (Hospital (HEV), Veterinary Faculty, Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique. The owner complaint was bad breath. The diagnosis was made by physical examination, when it was observed the presence of a supernumerary canine teeth on the maxilla. The treatment was the deciduous teeth extraction. After three months it was not observed any trace of the teeth in place of extraction. Early diagnoses associated with a surgical intervention for dental extraction is effective and prevents future problems of periodontal disease in the animal.
